A powerful technique for time management

30 Jul 2007

Every day, or most days, we have things to do which we are not quite so comfortable with. It could be cold calling sessions, it could be contacting a customer and having to break some bad news to them, it could be speaking with someone else in your organisation about a problem they’ve created. And we feel FEAR. And because we feel fear we often delay carrying out the task – sometimes even until the next day. Sound familiar?

The challenge is that by delaying the action, we carry around that fear, in our conscious and in our subconscious minds, so we put ourselves in a non-positive mind set. It has a non-positive impact on everything else we do.

A powerful technique for time management

So here’s the technique. List your days important tasks - as I’m sure you do now anyway. Then - organise them in order of their FEAR FACTOR. In other words – the things you fear most go at the top of the list. And DO those first. Once you get into that habit, you’ll find you no longer fear doing the things you use to fear and every day will be an absolute joy. Fear is the one thing that holds most people back from becoming what they want to become. But there is NOTHING to fear – and overcoming fear is one of the many habits of a world class achiever.
