I’m often asked, and particularly in these troubled times when training budgets have been cut to a minimum, “does a two hour sales training slot really do any long term good?” My answer is always the same: “Yes – providing somebody takes the responsibility to follow through and make sure what I teach the sales team is acted upon.”
In two hours I can deliver sufficient material to ensure most people, whether new to sales or experienced sales professionals, whatever product or service they are selling, can double their sales in a relatively short space of time. It just means following through and implementing the techniques I show you – not drifting back into the same old, same old habits.
Most of you who have subscribed to the newsletter have been to one of my presentations and my guess is that most of you have not followed through and implemented everything you learned that day. What you did is to pick the two or three things you felt most comfortable with and implemented those. You stayed in your comfort zone.
Here are some interesting statistics that many of you will be familiar with. According to behavioral psychologists:
We remember 7% of what we hear.
We remember 25% of what we see and hear.
We remember 45% of what we see, hear and do.
And here’s one statistic you may not have heard:
We remember over 80% of what we see, hear, do and TEACH!
If you haven’t followed through. If you didn’t have someone to make sure you implemented all the material you learned. If you were responsible for hiring me and didn’t follow through with your sales team. Here’s what to do…
You have the notes and / or my CD. Start again! Go through the notes and / or the CD and then TEACH someone else what you were shown. That way it will really stick!
There’s only a few weeks to year end – make them count.
